When Emily moves to college as a freshman, she finds a friend in her roommate, Riley, who encourages her to pursue the better things in life. Events, however, take a turn for the worse when Halloween rolls around. Emily finds herself pressured into a party, feeling ill, having strange visions, and completely ruining what should have been a great time. In an attempt to remedy her terrible night she goes for the thing that has kept her safe all her life, and after she is unable to find it, she blacks out and makes a mistake that will change her forever. Worst of all, she was warned about this. After all, it's her birthday.
